It is important for an industrial area to have a robust system for the treatment and processing of possible waste. Sitech Services operates the Integrated Waste Water Purification Installation (IAZI) for the Chemelot Site. All the waste water generated at Chemelot is fed via a drainage system to the IAZI, where organic substances and nitrogen compounds are removed biologically.
The IAZI's activities include:
- Assuming responsibility for waste water when it leaves the site user’s plant
- Transporting and monitoring waste water
- Pre-treating waste water for processing in the purification installation
- Purifying waste water and monitoring the effluent discharge
- Advising site users of opportunities to reduce the cost of waste water treatment.
