Niet altijd eenvoudig, maar gelukkig zitten ze al behoorlijk op het goede spoor. \u201cWe volgen alle innovatieve ontwikkelingen in de railwereld op de voet\u201d, verzekert Marcel Roost, Manager Site Infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De medewerkers van Site Infrastructure werken aan verschillende innovaties. Projectleider Eefje Linnartz: \u201cDe Trackscan is een tractiemiddel voorzien van camera\u2019s en laserequipment, waarmee we de railinfra in kaart brengen om te zien waar onderhoud nodig is. Verder zijn we bezig met de Rolling Stock Evaluation Tool (RSET), waarmee we treinen op de Chemelot site met camera\u2019s scannen om te zien wat de conditie van de wagons is. Daarnaast maken we steeds meer gebruik van sensoren om data te genereren. Bijvoorbeeld op het spoor, waar we onder meer de temperatuur meten om tijdig afwijkingen te constateren. Ook op stootjukken aan het eind van bepaalde sporen zitten sensoren. Als die geraakt worden door een locomotief of wagon, dan geeft de sensor een sein af zodat ze op de goede plek teruggezet kunnen worden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monitoring data voor optimalisatie processen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marcel: \u201cIk heb hoge verwachtingen van deze innovaties. De gegenereerde data helpen bij het optimaliseren van onze processen. Zo kunnen we de veiligheid van de rail infra nog beter borgen en nog effici\u00ebnter werken. Maar de toekomst heeft nog meer in petto: hybride locomotieven, locomotieven op waterstof, automatische\u00a0\u00a0koppeling van wagons en global positioning van wagons. Die technieken staan nog in de kinderschoenen.
