Mitsui site

Challenge
Japanese chemical giant Mitsui Chemicals Group wanted to build a factory on the Chemelot site for the production of plastics for the automotive industry. The permit application was complex, because it covered all aspects of the environment. A form-free environmental impact assessment (EIA) was also mandatory. The entire project had to be completed in just five months.

Approach
The party that arranged the building permit for Mitsui called upon Environmental Permitting for the environmental permit because of the extreme complexity and time pressure involved. Due to the use of various expertise, strong connections with the government and Mitsui's confidence in this, it was possible to work up a permit application in good time.

Benefits

  • All expertise for various aspects of the environmental permit in-house, including knowledge of the WABO, Water Act, Nature Conservation Act and BRZO regulations.
  • The ability to make rapid changes with relevant expertise in areas such as spatial planning and construction, among others
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental impact calculations and reports
  • Total overview of the available environmental space on the Chemelot site
  • Good contacts with the various authorities
