Meet Nickel van de Mortel, project coordinator SAHC

After studying mechanical engineering, Nickel van de Mortel knew for certain: he wanted to work for an innovative technology company. Although he didn’t initially think of Sitech Asset Health Center, he was immediately enthusiastic after his first preliminary interview. And now he has been working as a project coordinator within the SAHC team for several months. We asked him a few short questions about his first experiences in the field.

What’s your background?
I studied Engineering at the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Sittard. Last July, I received my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was sure that I wanted to work for a technology company after my studies. A company that looks to the future and wants to be a leader in what it does. After Sitech Asset Health Center invited me for an interview, I was immediately enthusiastic. Last September I started work as a project coordinator.

“I love working with such an innovative team.”

What do you find interesting about the world of Industry 4.0?
The digital transition in the process industry is developing at a rapid pace. More and more different types of sensors are being developed and the demand for digital monitoring is constantly increasing. I am also convinced that companies need to take this step in order to get more value out of their assets and to stay ahead of their competitors. I find it very interesting to be developing a solution that will mean a lot in the process industry.

Why Sitech Asset Health Center?
Within the SAHC team, we are constantly working on future-facing issues. We are working with technologies that are still unknown on the market. That’s what makes working at SAHC an exciting challenge. I love being able to work with such an innovative team.
