Virtual reality instruction room

Sitech has conducted a pilot project in collaboration with the OCI Nitrogen fertilizer plants (OMF). The aim here is to teach young technicians how to restart a turning gear with the help of virtual reality.

There is barely any opportunity to rehearse the actions that need to be taken in this regard in practice, as a fault such as this only occurs a couple of times a year. But when it does happen, it needs to be resolved quickly. It is therefore extremely important to pass this knowledge on to young people.

This is now possible with the help of instruction via VR. Here, young technicians can practice the necessary skills inside a digital replica of the real plant. The pilot study has been successfully completed and the VR instruction room has been put into operation by OMF.
