At the Maintenance trade show in Dortmund, Germany, Sitech signed a distribution agreement with iSensPro, a specialist in smart sensoring: the remote monitoring of data from industrial assets, including plant pipelines. This strategic partnership enables Sitech to offer its customers the best solution to address Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) at existing plants or at new installations and optimise asset performance.
CUI is a global problem in the chemical industry. Many industrial process installations are now decades old, so the insulated assets pose a safety risk. At present, many industrial plants are not able to detect damage caused by corrosion under insulation until it is too late, leading to significant costs and risks.
iSensPro’s major strength lies in detecting potential defects, with smart sensors being mounted on the outside of pipelines and taking measurements through the gasket. With Sitech’s expertise and iSensPro’s sensors, CUI can be detected and resolved at an early stage, before problems and plant failures can occur.
