Recap: Second edition Sitech Smart Summit successful

Sitech has been sharing its knowledge and expertise since the end of 2023 via the Smart Summits: interactive meetings between Sitech and its customers, in which varied topics are discussed and Sitech’s unique integrated approach takes centre stage. During the second edition, which focused on the topic ‘reliable supply chain in a dynamic environment’, Sitech, together with guest speaker Jürgen Donders of Gordian Logistic Experts, presented its customers with the possibilities of optimising supply chains and reducing costs by never again misplacing spare parts.

In a dynamic setting, on the Brightlands Chemelot Campus, plenty of opportunity was taken to question the speakers and raise their own cases and challenges. Because the entire chain of service provider, supplier and asset owner was present in the room, realistic insights were shared and expectations managed.

There is much to be gained from increasing availability and reducing costs by planning the procurement process of schedulable projects.

Our guest speaker Jürgen Donders indicated that asset owners are often unaware of critical spare parts, which can lead them to encounter problems and high costs. “Every company should pay more attention to Spare Parts Management. There is a lot to be gained from increasing availability and reducing costs by planning the procurement process of schedulable projects. So: plan everything you can to influence your costs.”

Finally, Maurice Steffin, Customer Solutions Manager at Sitech took his turn to show the holistic impact and benefits spare parts management has when properly embedded in an asset owners’ strategic asset management plan. How much risk are you willing to accept as an asset owner? How much savings potential is there in preventive maintenance plans? “The total package needs to be taken into account, including updating optimal production settings. But also consider examining historical maintenance data.”

In a dynamic setting, on the Brightlands Chemelot Campus, plenty of opportunity was taken to question the speakers and raise their own cases and challenges. As the entire chain of service provider, supplier and asset owner was present in the room, realistic insights were shared and expectations managed. The good conversations afterwards during the networking opportunity tasted like more.
