Sitech completes successful project: OCI started production of sustainable AdBlue

Chemelot in Geleen aims to be the first circular chemistry site in Europe by 2050. To achieve this, plant processes are being made more sustainable and modifications are being made to the site. Plants and facilities are being built that promote sustainability in a general sense. A good example of this is the installation recently completed by Sitech that enables OCI to supply the sustainable product AdBlue.

Meanwhile, OCI’s plant has started producing AdBlue, a great product for making diesel vehicles run cleaner because it converts harmful emissions into harmless substances. The benefits of using AdBlue, in addition to compliance with emissions regulations, are improved air quality and potentially higher fuel efficiency.

Sitech coordinated this project from start to finish; from construction and execution to quality engineering and obtaining the necessary permits. “For the customer (OCI), this was a time-driven project and despite unforeseen circumstances and poor weather conditions, including about 30 centimeters of snow, we managed to deliver the project within the best set schedule,” says project manager Kristof Knuysen for Sitech.

With our integrated approach and driven staff, we worked intensively with our client’s teams to handle and realize their scope. Sitech planned the service down to the smallest detail, delivering the project in a year and a half.
