Sitech and CGI sign partnership to provide innovative IT solutions for plant digitisation

Over the next three years, ICT service provider CGI will support Sitech and its customers on the Chemelot site in converting the integrated existing IT landscape into a future-proof solution, appropriate to Sitech’s new role after it becomes independent in 2023. At the same time, CGI and Sitech as partners aim to develop innovative digital solutions for asset management for plants at Chemelot and other sites. This collaboration will safeguard the continuity and quality of Sitech’s services to its customers and will enable a faster response to future developments and needs within the chemical process industry.

Sitech is a technical service provider with a fully integrated approach based on broad engineering knowledge. For more than 15 years, Sitech has guided its customers, including on the Chemelot site, to manage and execute complex turnarounds and large maintenance and modification projects. CGI is the partner for the implementation and management of operational technology solutions and IT solutions.

Since June 2023, Sitech has been operating as an independent company within the Ebert HERA group, a good starting position for both the broadening of our services at Chemelot and our growth ambitions outside Chemelot. Partnering is part of our growth strategy and with CGI we have found a partner whose knowledge of digitalisation and operational technologies puts them in an excellent position to manage and develop the best digital solutions for our customers.
Marc Dassen, CEO Sitech

Powerful combination by combining IT, OT and engineering knowledge
The companies’ partnership offers a unique solution in plant digitisation. Sitech and CGI have worked together for many years in the management and maintenance of plant systems and in securing operational systems against cyber attacks, for example. With this partnership, the Benelux companies will be working together to their full extent. CGI’s knowledge of IT, OT and digital processes and Sitech’s extensive and broad engineering knowledge will create a powerful combination to offer long-term solutions to customers at Chemelot and beyond.

Thanks to our years of experience in the process industry, we understand both sides of the spectrum: we combine domain knowledge with technical expertise. For our customers, this translates into efficient and future-proof solutions. Sitech’s deep maintenance knowledge and experience perfectly complements our experience in digitising processes and systems in manufacturing.
